Rebar in Revit 2027: Next-Generation Workflows for Bridges and Buildings
Discover the latest reinforcement modeling and detailing workflows in Revit 2027 through a practical, step-by-step demonstration covering both bridge and building projects. The session shows how to place, edit, and validate reinforcement in both 2D and 3D views.
It also explains how to create consistent rebar geometry within complex structural elements and how to manage changes as the design develops. The workflow concludes with the extraction of fabrication information through tags, bending details, and rebar schedules.

Data First BIM: Requirements Driven Modeling with Open Standards
Most BIM models begin with geometry, while the required information is added later. In this practical session, I will start with client information requirements, convert them into IDS, and use them to guide the creation of a simple model directly in IFC using Bonsai. I will then validate the model, correct missing or incorrect information, and verify the final delivery.
Participants will see how open standards can connect requirements, modeling, structured data, and validation in one practical workflow.
Scott is a Senior Technical Specialist at Autodesk with over 30 years of experience in architecture, BIM, and digital design technology. After earning his Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona, he spent more than a decade in architectural practice, where he developed expertise in project management, CAD/BIM standards, and workflow adoption.
An early adopter of Revit, Scott began using the software when Revit 1.0 was released and has been helping firms successfully implement BIM workflows ever since.
Since joining Autodesk in 2007, he has worked with hundreds of architecture, engineering, and construction firms, helping them leverage Revit, BIM, and emerging technologies to improve project delivery and business outcomes.
